Saul Mejias, 32, Felix Cordova-Molina, 43, and Roman Mota-Alvarez, 31, were arrested Tuesday, following the execution of several warrants issued following the citizen's complaints, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams.
Investigators with the Danbury Police Special Investigations Division, with the assistance of officers from the Patrol Division, took Mejias and Mota-Alvarez into custody after they entered Mejias’ car, which was parked in a private parking lot. When the investigators approached the car, they determined the two were engaged in an illegal drug transaction.
After placing both under arrest, investigators proceeded to Mejias’ South Street residence for the purpose of executing the search warrant for the residence, Williams said.
Upon entering the residence they encountered several adults, who turned out to be residents and non-residents of the apartment. During this time, they came in contact with Cordova-Molina, who was found to be in possession of a substantial quantity of heroin packaged for sale, cocaine and more than $2,000 in cash, he added.
A further search of the residence uncovered drug packaging and a digital scale, both commonly associated with the processing of illegal drugs for sale.
Saul Mejias was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell, the sale of a controlled substance, possession with 1,500 feet of a school/intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
Felix Cordova-Molina was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to sell, possession within 1,500 feet of a school/intent, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of paraphernalia within a distance of a school. He is being held on $50,000 bond.
Roman Mota-Alvarez was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He is being held on $5,000 bond.
